The Georgia Film Foundation (GFF) is proud to announce our first Training & Education Grant  has been awarded to The DeKalb County School District.

About the Recipient:

The DeKalb County District has 15 Audio-Video, Technology and Film (AVTF) programs in 15 of its high schools throughout the District. This pathway includes 3-4 classes for students interested in a future career in the film and/or television industry.

Coursework covered includes:

  • script writing
  • production and programming
  • lighting
  • recording and editing
  • studio production, etc.

About the Award:

This GFF award will help students with travel and equipment costs to attend a national film competition called the Student Television Network Convention (STN). Students will be able to share not only their final film product, but also valuable lessons from the competition with other film students across the school district.

This is a national competition so DeKalb Students will see how they stack up against other students, share ideas and offer support. Post the STN convention, participating students will be able to continue making quality films for future film festivals/competitions

Award Value:

GFF will award $11,500.00 to the DeKalb County School District. This funding will support attendance for 17 Students at the STN conference.
